Hard Disk Drive & Laptop Data Recovery
Data recovery from client workstations, laptops and external hard disk units.
SpectrumData offer data recovery services for the recovery of data from failed hard disk drives from a number of devices including client workstations, laptops and external hard disk units. Our hard disk recovery technicians have many years or experience and proven knowledge. This coupled with a large repository of software and tools provide SpectrumData with all the elements to retrieve your lost data.
Hard disk recoveries can be segregated into two types, logical and physical. Logical recoveries involve the use of only software tools and techniques in order to restore lost data. Physical recoveries require the repair or replacement of physical components of the hard disk drive before undertaking recovery via logical means. SpectrumData perform an initial inspection of all hard disks in order to determine what type of recovery is required and the associated costs and timeframe
Smaller businesses often run the risk of not being able or aware of their business critical data. As a result this data is often stored on client workstations or laptops when they are susceptible to hard disk failure or data loss. SpectrumData understand that when this does happen, the data lost is often as critical as a protected server. Subsequently our services not only address the retrieval of critical data, but also the timing constraints involved.
SpectrumData supports a large range of hardware and software platforms including Intel, AMD and Apple hardware plus Microsoft, Macintosh and Linux operating systems
Common causes for hard disk failure or data loss:
- Hard disk drive media damage.
- Component failure (read/write heads, servo mechanism, firmware corruption, assemblies, platters, drive motors etc).
- Formatting or overwriting of physical drives or logical partitions.
- Failed image loading processes.
- Corrupt or missing critical operating system files.
- Accidental or intentional file deletion.
- Application or operating system crash or boot issues.
- Partition errors or corruption.
- Damage due to power failure, power surge, lightning strikes, floods, smoke or fire.
- Failure due to wear and tear.
It is important to note that unless a hard disk drive has suffered extensive physical damage the chances are high that SpectrumData can retrieve most, if not all, of your lost data. We DO NOT recommend that you attempt to recover the data yourself. If you attempt to recover the data yourself, further damage to the platters can occur and can be to the detrimental to any future recovery attempts.
