Many exploration programs performed by oil and gas companies are not done exclusively by one company. Many oil and gas companies share the risk of these expensive activities with other oil and gas companies as well as sharing their relative expertise with each other to achieve the best result for all parties.
This process requires the dissemination of various data types and information to each party (or nominated parties). In most cases, a party is nominated as the operator of the acreage and is responsible for making most of the executive decisions on the exploration programme being undertaken.
SpectrumData works closely with operators to ensure the distribution of relevant information for all parties involved. In addition, SpectrumData can add significant value to the data distribution process by converting the data for use in each of the parties respective software applications and hardware infrastructure.
As an example, if a 3D seismic survey has been recorded and each party in the joint venture (JV) wished to obtain a copy of the data, SpectrumData can duplicate the data, convert the formats to the target companies application format (3590 to DLT, SEGD to SEGY, Paper to digital etc) and handle the shipping of the required data.
This service can be extended to include government submissions and data disposal.
